Karachi Stock Exchange is the largest and most important among all stock exchanges in Pakistan, the others being the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) and the Islamabad Stock Exchange(ISE). In 2002, the Karachi Stock Exchange of Pakistan was declared the best stock exchange in the world by the "Business Week". The following four years too have been very favorable in terms of growth of the market. Even the USA Today hailed the Karachi Stock Exchange as 'one of the best performing houses in the world'.

The Karachi Stock Exchange is presently handled by a team of ten, comprising of Mr. Muhammad, Aliuddin Ansari, Muhammad Shoib Memon, Shehzad Chamdia, Sikander Esmail Bagasrawala, Haji Ghani Haji Usman, Mr. Muhammad Dawood Jan Muhammad, Tariq Kirmani, Mr. Asad Umar with Muhammad Yacoob Memon as the acting managing director and Mr Shaukat Tarin as the chairman.
