On February 21, 1848, The Communist Manifesto was published in London. One of the most influential political pamphlets in history, the Communist Manifesto was written by Karl Marx, along with Friedrich Engels. The Communist Manifesto proclaimed that “the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles”. The political pamphlet, which was originally published in German as Manifesto of the Communist Party, was strongly in favor of the working class. It proclaimed that the inevitable victory of the proletariat would bring an end to the class struggle forever. It ended with the statement, “The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Workingmen of all countries, unite.”Initially, the work had very little impact, but with time it started to gain attention and was recognized as the most influential manuscript in the world.
