The 2012 Olympics is the 30th edition of this international sports competition. The main venue set to host the games of the 2012 Olympics is the London Olympic Stadium in the city of London. This stadium is set to be located in Stratford and have a capacity of providing accommodation for about 80,000.
The 2012 Olympics London started from the 27th July to the 12th of August 2012. More than 10,800 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees participated in it. It featured 26 sports in 39 disciplines. 302 events took place at different venues which have been divided into three zones. The opening ceremony and the closing ceremonyhappened at the Olympics Park , the major venue for London Olympics 2012.
London Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) launched the first phase of presale of tickets from March-April 2011 and the second phase from June-July 2011. The tickets can also be purchased from ATR (Authorised Tickets Resellerss) located in various countries all over the world.
Olympic Park, the destination of many events and attractions, is ready to cater the spectators coming from different parts of the World to experience the major international event The London Olympics 2012.
