Career: Andre Agassi started his career as a professional tennis player in 1986 at the age of sixteen. The first breakthrough he got was in 1992 with the title of Wimbledon tournament. Since then Agassi has won 57 singles tournaments, including eight Grand Slam events. He has been the World No.1 tennis player. Agassi is one of the only five male players to have received all four Grand Slam titles. He is also the only player to win every Grand Slam singles title. Agassi has won the maximum number of ATP Masters Series. He has also been a member of the winning team in the Davis Cup. In 1996, Agassi participated in the Summer Games. He won gold medal in men's tennis singles competition. The last Grand Slam title won by him was the Australian Open in 2003. Agassi retired from tennis on 3 rd September, 2006, after his defeat in the third round of the US Open. Agassi is married to the legendary tennis player Steffi Graf. They have two children, a son named Jaden Gil and a daughter, Jaz Elle.
Performance at the Olympics: Andre Agassi participated in the 1996 Atlanta Summer Games. He struggled in the early rounds. He needed two tiebreakers to win the match against Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden. Agassi lost the opening set to Andrea Gaudenzi of Italy. His struggle continued in the quarterfinals also. There he was given a tough competition by Wayne Ferreira of South Africa. Agassi won the match with the result 7-5, 4-6, 7-5. However, he won the final against Sergi Bruguera of Spain in straight sets (6-2, 6-3, 6-1).
