Career: Jayne Torvill began her skating career when she was eight years old. In 1971, Torvill teamed up with Michael Hutchenson for the British National Paris Championships. She won the National Championships at the age of 14. After breaking the partnership with Hutchenson, Torvill teamed up with Christopher Dean in 1975. Torvill and Dean participated in the 1980 Lake Placid Summer Games. In the Games, they finished fifth. Following the Games, they gave up their jobs to dedicate their time completely to skating. The dancing duo competed in the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Summer Games . This time they won gold medal in the ice dancing competition. Torvill and Dean returned in the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics and won bronze medal in the event.
Performance at the Olympics: Jayne Torvill and her partner Christopher Dean participated in the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Summer Games . The couple gave their bets performance in the competition. They got the perfect scores from all the judges for artistic impression. They also received 12 scores of 6.0 out of 18 marks and won their only Olympic title. In the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Summer Games , Torvill and dean competed once more to win one bronze medal in the event.
