Aquatics- Olympic Players: Aquatics happen to be an important part of the Olympic event. The aquatic games or the water sports are divided into separate classifications like Swimming, Diving, Water Polo and Synchronized Swimming. Many Atletes have taken part in the various aquatic sports over the years in the Summer Games. The great aquatic Olympians are people who had achieved a great feat by winning the various aquatic events spiritedly. Their names have gone down the pages of the Olympics history. The names of some of the notable achievers along with their achievements are:

  • Matthew Nicholas Biondi – This swimmer from United States of America has an amazing track record of winning 11 medals in the Olympics beginning from 1984 till he retired in 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He is the winner of eight gold medals titles and is regarded as one of the best swimmers in the world whose record speaks for him.
  • Ian Thorpe – The Australian swimmer has made his mark in swimming in the Summer Games at a young age. He has won five gold medals and has been one of the fastest swimmers in the world. He was chosen as the 'Male World Swimmer of the World' in 2002 by the Swimming World Magazine. He is nicknamed as the Thorpedo.
  • Gregory Efthimios Louganis- An accomplished diver who had taken part and won several diving championships and also won four gold medals at the Summer Games.
