The Laoshan Mountain Bike Course : The Laoshan Mountain Bike Course is a mountain bike cycling course in Beijing . During the twenty-ninth Summer Games , mountain bike competitions will be held in this course.
Location of the Laoshan Mountain Bike Course : The Laoshan Mountain Bike Course is situated by the Laoshan Velodrome in the Shijingshan District in the western part of Beijing . Bajiao Amusement Park or Beijing Shijingshan Amusement Park , Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery and Fahai Temple are some important travel destinations in the Shijingshan District . Sheji Hotel, Shuang Long hotel, Beijing Xijiao Hotel, Beijing Xishan Cuiyuan Mountain Villa and Jinjiang Inn are some hotels in the Shijingshan district.
Description of the Laoshan Mountain Bike Course : The Laoshan Mountain Bike Course is being renovated for the 2008 Summer Games . The renovation and expansion program of the course began in May 2006 . The project involves a competition course, a fixed building, a temporary stand and other temporary facilities for the competitions. The renovation will be completed in the second half of 2007 . After the completion of the Summer Games , the Laoshan Mountain Bike Course will be used as the training centre for the Chinese cycling team . The course will also be opened for public.
Area and Capacity of the Laoshan Mountain Bike Course : The length of the competition course will be 6.2 kilometers in circumference. The fixed building will cover a floor space of 8,275 square meters . The temporary spectator stand will have a capacity of 2,000 spectators.
