A large number of Olympics venues have been selected for the 2008 Beijing Summer Games Venues. The Summer Games Beijing, China, 2008, will take place from 8th August to 24th August at the Beijing National Stadium. Officially, the 2008 Summer Olympics is known as Games of the XXIX Olympiad. In this international multi-sport event of 2008, athletes from all over the world will be participating.
The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games (BOCOG) is the organizer of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad. Ticketing Center of BOCOG is responsible for tickets production, venues’ tickets sales, delivery and other ticketing operations for the 2008 Beijing Summer Games.
About a total of 31 event venues in Beijing have been selected for the 2008 Beijing Summer Games Venues. From a host of Olympic Stadiums in Beijing, the main stadium will be the National Stadium of Beijing or the Bird's Nest, where almost 50% of the events will be held. This well-known stadium is situated in the Olympic Green. Here, the opening as well as the closing ceremonies will take place. Besides, it will be the host to the events of football and athletics. This stadium will also stage many cultural and entertainment activities. Olympic Green is a place that is situated in the northern end of the city of Beijing.
Olympic Sports Center Stadium, Chaoyang District, will host Football and Modern Pentathlon (running and equestrian), while Beijing University of Technology gymnasium, Chaoyang District, will be hosting Badminton and Rhythmic Gymnastics. The National Aquatics Center will hold the events in swimming, diving, water polo, and synchronized swimming.
National Stadium, which is also called the Bird's Nest because of its unique design, will be the main stadium in Beijing Summer Games. The stadium is located at the center of the Olympic Green. Beijing National Stadium will host athletics and football events during the Games.
