Tennis is an interesting sport that originated in the late 19th century in England. Tennis made its debut at the Summer Games held in Athens, Greece in the year 1896. After the 1924 Summer Games at Paris, it was excluded from the list. However 1988 onwards, it not only regained its place at the Olympics but was also considered as an official Olympic sport.
The four matches in tennis include men’s singles, women’s single, women’s doubles and men’s doubles. In the 1904 summer Olympics, tennis Singles (Men) tournament was introduced. Nations like Austria, Canada, Australia, Bohemia, Great Britain, Hungary, South Africa, United States, France, Netherlands and Sweden participate in the Men's Singles Tennis at the Olympics.
In a singles match, only two people can play the game. Players need to score points by winning sets and matches. There are four points in a game. After winning 6 games, a set is won. Men are required to win three sets out of the total five in a men's single tennis match.
