Tennis was introduced at the Athens Summer Games in 1896. John Pius Boland won the first tennis gold medal at the Olympics. After 1924, tennis again found a place at the Seoul Olympics of 1988. Since then tennis players have been participating in both the singles and doubles tennis tournaments representing their respective countries. The Doubles Men tennis event at the 1986 Olympics was won by John boland and Friedrich Traun.
During the Beijing Summer Games in 2008, the Tennis Doubles Men event will be held at the Olympic Green Tennis Centre from 10th August to 17th August.
