The international swimming events are held in pools of 50 m length. The contestants of (Women) 800m Freestyle have to make 16 rounds of the pool. In this particular event the swimmers need to conserve the energy till the last round. The key to success in this event is keeping an eye on the nearest contestants. The best swimmers show their true class in the concluding 50 m. The coaches for this event are expected to train the swimmers in such a way that they learn to conserve their energy for the ultimate rounds. However, it is essential that the swimmers do not fall too far behind the other contestants in the first 750 m.
