50m Freestyle (Men) is one of the traditional swimming events that have been held in the Summer Games since a long time. Freestyle swimming is the most widely practiced forms of swimming. It is the fastest speed generating swimming form as swimmers prefer to swim front crawl. Apart from this, there are many other strokes like the sidestroke and the dog paddle. But during the Olympics, front crawl is the most widely used forms of freestyle swimming.
Beijing Summer Games 2008 also has 50m Freestyle (Men) event. The swimming events in Beijing Summer Games will commence from 9th August and will continue till 21st August, 2008. The swimming extravaganza will span for a period of 16 days. All the various events related to aquatics will take place in the Beijing National Aquatics Center. This particular event is likely to finish on 16th August.
Freestyle 50m (Men), is one of the most sought after events, in the Summer Games. Swimmers from the United States of America have been strong participants and also won several medals in the Summer Games. There are gold, silver and bronze medals that are awarded to the winners at the first, second and third positions respectively. Many Asian swimmers are also doing quite well in the international swimming arena and are strong contestants in the Beijing Summer Games 2008.
