400m freestyle (Women)

The 400m freestyle (Women) is a very challenging swimming event. The Freestyle (Women) of 400m is one of the most ancient events of the Summer Games. According to the swimming experts, the 400m freestyle (Women) is the test of energy for the swimmers. The swimming events are held in 50m pool. To cover 400m, the swimmers need to make 8 rounds of the pool. So, the swimmers need to maintain uniformity along the long stretch of 400m to complete successfully in the event. While swimming in this event, the swimmers always need to keep a track of her nearest competent. It has often been observed that the best swimmers run in the swiftest motion for the concluding 50m. The swimmers of 400m Freestyle for (Women) are specially trained by their coaches to conserve the energy for the concluding rounds. But in the process of conserving energy, the swimmers also need to maintain parity with the other contestants in the first 300m.

The 400m freestyle (Women) was held in 1924 Paris Olympics for the first time. The number of contestants in this challenging event is not very big. Henceforth, the finals of this event in the Olympics are held only after the heats. The semifinal round is not required to be held most of the times.
