200m Butterfly (Women)

200m Butterfly (Women) has been an integral part of the various swimming events that take place in the Summer Games. Beijing Summer Games 2008 also has this particular event in the female swimming category. Apart from the butterfly swimming event, there are also freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke events that are scheduled in the Summer Games. The 200m Butterfly (Women) swimming event was not a part of Summer Games before 1968. It was in this year that (Women) 200m Butterfly swimming event was included in the swimming category and the event was held in the Mexico City.

Beijing Summer Games 2008 also has several aquatics events, which include the Butterfly 200m (Women). The swimming events in this Olympics will continue for a period of 16 days, commencing from 9th August and continuing till 21st August. Apart from the marathon swimming events that cannot take place in close areas, all the other swimming events are scheduled to be held in the Beijing National Aquatics Center. There are gold, silver and bronze medals awarded for the first, second and third positions respectively.
