Triple Jump for Women at Olympics

Triple Jump for Women at Olympics: The triple jump is also known as the “hop, step and jump”. Hop, step and jump are the three parts of the triple jump action. The jump taken in “hop” is landed on the take-off foot. The athlete lands the “step” on the opposite foot. The last “jump” is landed in the pit filled with sand. Strength, flexibility and speed are the important factors for success in the triple jump event. Athletes have to adopt proper technique to excel in the event. The event has been contested by women since the last half of the nineteenth century.
