Greek discus at Olympicswas one of the ancient games, which has now become obsolete. It is one of the track and field competitions, which requires the throwing of a heavy lenticular disc.
The disc weighed 2 kg and has a diameter of 220 mm for men's event. For women championships, the disc was 1 kg heavy and 181 mm in diameter.
Greek discus at Olympics event was introduced in the Summer Olympics of 1908. Martin Sheridan of USA won the gold medal while his countryman Marquis Horr acquired the silver medal. Verner Jarvinen of Finland took the bronze medal.
