Sinuiju

The city of Sinuiju in North Korea is a pleasure for the tourists with nice landscapes supported by the flow of river and convenient transportation. Sinuiju, officially known as Sinuiju-si in North Korea makes the capital of North P’yongan Province. The Yalu (Amnok) River flowing across the city forms the border with the neighboring country China. The Sino-Korea Friendship Bridge (or China-Korea Friendship Bridge) connects the city of Dandong in China with the city of Sinuiju. The distance between Dandong and Sinuiju is merely 1.9 miles.

There is a pretty big list of must visit sites for the tourists. They should plan their itinerary to visit the beautiful sites of the Tonggun Pavilion, Waterfall, and Hot Springs. Since the average temperature of Sinuiju is as low as 9 degree Celsius, the tourists find it a pleasure to take baths in the Hot Springs. To attract the tourists in Sinuiju, a Ferris wheel overlooking the Yalu River was built though it has never been in function. Though ineffective, the Ferris wheel provides a delightful view for the tourists.

The richness of education in Sinuiju can be explored if the tourists pay visit to the following educational institutions in Sinuiju:

  • Sinuiju High School
  • Eastern Middle School,
  • Sinuiju Light Industry University
  • Sinuiju Commercial High School
  • Sinuiju University of Education

To reach Sinuiju, one of the best routes is the boat sail from Dandong in China. The tourists often prefer to hire speedboats to cruise along the Yule River in the land of Sinuiju. Airways, railways or roadways are the other options to step into the city of Sinuiju. The city of Sinuiju though very much a part of Communist State North Korea, practices the market economy. The tourists can reach the land of Sinuiju and experience the difference.
