The
North Korea Military force is known as the
Korean People's Army. The
North Korea Military Force was officially founded on the eighth day of February in the year 1948. The
North Korea Military body is supposed to be the fourth
largest Military force in the world. The
North Korea Military Force includes:
- North Korea Air Force
- Civil Security Forces
- North Korea People's Army
- North Korea Ground Force
- North Korea Naval Force
with a
reserved unit of around seven million men and women, the
North Korea Military Force is made up of
Reserve Military Training Unit, Worker-Peasant Militia, and the
Young Red Guards. During peace time all these units are organized and managed by
Party Civil Defense Department but are placed under the
Ministry of Defense in contingencies. Almost 30% to 40% of the
North Korean citizens aged between fifteen to sixty are mobilized to join the reserve units.
North Korea Military claims the pride of having highly
mechanized infantry and
tank units. These units of the
North Korea Military are organized at corps and brigade levels and positioned in depth along the major routes of the attack lines. The
Artillery Units of the
North Korea Military Force are protected in covered trenches and underground bases.
Improvements are continuously made in the
North Korea Military Force. These
improvements include forward repositioning key offensive units, the establishment of combat positions along major routes between Pyongyang and the Demilitarized Zone, improvement of the coastal defense forces in the forward area, constructing missile support facilities, and procuring air defense weapons.
