Kim Sung



Kim Il-sung was a Communist leader of North Korea. He was the founder of North Korea and had remained the head of the state until his death. After the death of this great North Korean political figure his son Kim Jong-il came into power.

Kim Il-sung had been the Prime Minister from 1948 to 1972 and remained President from 1972 to his death. Apart from this he also had been the General Secretary of the Workers Party of Korea where he ruled autocratically.

Being the leader of North Korea, he ended up switching from a Marxist-Leninist ideology to the self-reliance idea and became one of the most popular political head.

North Korea officially refers Kim Sung to be the "Great Leader" and he has given the most prestigious designation of the country's "Eternal President".

Kim Sung had been so popular amongst the North Koreans that both his birthday and the day of his death are public holidays in North Korea. This world-known famous personality was born on 15th April and died in 1994, July.

Kim Sung actively participated in the Korean war and being restored as a leader of North Korea, Kim continued to eliminate all obstacles affecting his nation. During his rule Kim Sung launched a five-year national economic plan in order to set-up a Soviet-style command economy, with all the industries owned by the state and agriculture was being collectivized. The economy was then based on heavy industry, those include arms production.

Kim Sung has been known in the world history as a powerful orthodox communist dictator of North Korea.
