North Korea Leader

With the division of the Korean Peninsula along the 38th parallel, the North Korea leaders had to give great effort to nurture the new born state. The greatest and the most popular North Korea Leader is late Kim Il Sung (15 April 1912 - 8 July 1994). Kim Il Sung was a Communist North Korea Leader who played a crucial role in the birth of North Korea. With North Korea becoming an independent state, Kim Il Sung became the Prime Minister and later the President of North Korea. Being one of the most prominent North Korea Leader, Kim Il Sung was also the General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea. As the most popular North Korea Leader, Kim Il Sung was the man who shifted the Korean preference from a Marxist-Leninist ideology to the Juche idea and went on to established a personality cult. Still remembered as the "Eternal President" the birth day and death anniversary of this North Korea Leader are public holidays in Korea.

Another important North Korea Leader is Kim Jong Il. Born on February 1942, this North Korean Leader is the son of the famous North Korean Leader Kim Il Sung. Soon after his graduation, Kim Jong Il began his political career from the ranks of the ruling Korean Workers' Party. Initially he worked in the party's Elite Organization Department and then was named a member of the Politburo in 1968. Presently, this North Korea Leader is the Chairman of the National Defense Commission, Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, and General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
