The time in Nigeria is approximately one hour ahead of the Greenwich Meridian Time or the GMT/UTC. The Greenwich Meridian Time is the standard time and the time zones of all countries in the world are decided by the number of hours they differ from the time of GMT. Though Nigeria lies 10.00 North of the Equator, no such adjustment needs to be done in the time of the country.
