Bowen University is among the private universities in Nigeria. The university is situated in the Iwo city of Osun state. The university campus covers around 1300 acres of landscape. The university building includes all the necessary facilities for the students like, library, laboratories for different subjects, food corners and other services for the students. It is also known as a Baptist college because the Nigerian Baptist Convention owns and operates this institution of higher studies.
Bowen University in Nigeria established quite recently that is in the year 2002 on 4th of November. In last four and a half years the strength of the students increased from less than 500 students to around 6000 students. The Nigerian Baptist Convention proposed an idea of establishing a university under the association around 50-60 years back. The plan achieved success in getting the legal permission in the year 1957. Since then the convention is working immensely in order to establish the university and finally in the year 2002 achieved success.
