Nibo

Nibo is one of the Nigeria cities located in the Awka South, which further falls under the Anambra state of Nigeria. Nibo is also known as Nibo Nise. Though one of the cities of Nigeria, yet it experiences variations in climatic conditions. The latitudinal and the longitudinal extent of the city of Nibo is 6 degree 10 minutes North and 7 degree 4 minutes East respectively. Nibo lies at an altitude of one hundred thirty eight meters.

The cities bordering Nibo in the east are Ndiagu and Umuawulu. Nise borders the south, while Agukwu Nri lies in the west of Nibo. To the north of Nibo lie Akwa, Amobia and Umuokpu. The city of Nibo is comprised of four villages. Nibo's most respected and prestigious families inhabit the four villages according to their seniority.
Ezeawulu, Umuanum, Ifite and Ezeoye are the four communities residing in Nibo in the order of seniority. The foremost characteristic of Nibo people is that they are committed to the development of their city and work unitedly.

The city of Nibo is jointly governed by the heads of the four villages. The governance rotates from one village to the other. Nibo has a Town Union guided by the President General and the Secretariat. The union looks after the administration of the town.

The city of Nibo is lively and vibrant with the various traditional festivals. The Onwa Asa, Onwa Asato and the Nibo Day are some of the Nibo festivals worth mentioning. Nibo Day is usually celebrated every year for acknowledging the contributions of the people actively involved for the development of Nibo.
