The city of Abeokuta is located at a distance of 100 kms from the city of Lagos. The city is situated on the central railway line from Lagos founded in 1899, about 78 km south of Lagos. It is sited on the previous trunk road from Lagos to Ibadan. The city of Ibadan, the capital of the Oyo state, is located to the north of Abeokuta, about 70 kms away. Abeokuta also has road connections to Ilaro, Shagamu, Iseyin, and Kétou.
