La Trinidad is a town, which grew from a small cattle ranching village into its present modern amenities. It is a throbbing pulsating lively quality to it despite being just a scenic small town in Esteli.
The three hills, Mocuana, Oyanka and Hatillo, which were instrumental in it being named are the prime attractions today. Youthful Lady Garmendia had a small cattle ranch, which was almost deserted because of a drawn-out interval of drought. After trying as hard as possible the young lady had to give up her ranch, return to home to Granada. Her property was passed on as a form of ‘inheritance’ to the homesteaders living in the area and later provided a reposing seat for travelers with wagons making their way through. With the arrival of a priest the number of settlers here began to rise in earnest and slowly the town began to take shape.
