Miss Nicaragua is a coveted title that every Nicaraguan girl would dream to posses.
The title of Miss Nicaragua is not only about how attractive a woman is or a perfectly maintained body, but it is the possession of beauty with brains. The beauty pageant started in 1955, and is organized in the national level, the winners of which are entitled to participate in bigger contests such as Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss International.
The participants of
Miss Nicaragua pageant do not require any educational qualification but must be above 18years of age and below 27 years. They must be unmarried and must not have any children. Out of the selected candidates, 17 are chosen to represent their region. During the last few years participants conveyed a theme, last year being "wonderful past, hopeful present and luminous future".
