Nicaragua Coffee often goes through the Pulp Natural process to have a rural fruited layer. Nicaragua is one of the promising coffee producers of Central America. High quality, best farming methods and co operative ownership has accelerated the growth of coffee industry in Nicaragua.
Some of the best Nicaraguan coffees are produced in the in the Jinotega and Matagalpa regions by the wet process. Most of the coffee is small or medium sized and acidic. Nicaraguan coffee trees have large coffee beans. When brewed these coffee beans become heavy bodied.
Coffee in Nicaragua was not imported to United States for some years. This was due to the political differences of U.S. and Nicaragua. But now the political condition has improved and coffee is exported to U.S.
There are nearly 30,000 coffee producers and most of them are small scale producers. Coffee industry in Nicaragua holds great importance in the economic development of the country. The coffee industry is also responsible for employing large part of the population in the production business as pickers, sorters and technicians.
Like other countries there was turbulence in the coffee industry of Nicaragua. The coffee growers had to face maximum trouble as they were not receiving even the basic amount to cover their production costs. However, this has been resolved to a certain limit.
