Mount Everest



Mount Everest is the highest mountain peak in the world, located at the border of Nepal, Tibet and China. Mount Everest was formed more than sixty million years ago.
The elevation of the Mount Everest is eight thousand eight hundred and fifty meters and is known as Sagarmatha in Nepal. The meaning of the term Sagarmatha in Nepali language is the "Goddess of the sky". In Tibet, Mount Everest is called by the name of Chomolungma or the "mother goddess of the universe". Mount Everest received its name from the British surveyor general of India in the year 1865, from the famous Sir George Everest. Before that, Mount Everest was known as Peak-15.

Mount Everest in Nepal was first assented by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on 29th May, 1953, while the first solo assent took place on 20th August 1980 by Reinhold Messner via the North East Ridge to the North Face. The first woman to climb Mt Everest Nepal was Junko Tabei in the year 1975 on 16th May.

A very interesting fact about the Mount Everest of Nepal is that it rises every year by a few millimeters because of the geographical changes. Those climbing Mount Everest Nepal mostly die due to the Avalanches. Knumbu Ice Fall is considered to be the moat dangerous area on Everest Nepal. Babu Chiri Sherpa was the only person to stay at Mt Everest Nepal for a span of twenty one hours.
