Kathmandu Nepal is the capital city of Nepal. Not only that, Kathmandu Nepal is also the largest city of the country. The native people residing there are called Newars. The Newars generally speak the Nepal Bhasa. This language is the language of communication among the Newars. Not only that, the Nepal Bhasa is also used largely by other ethnic communities who live in Kathmandu.
The name of Kathmandu has been derived from the name of a structure called Kaasthamandap in Durbar Square. The valley of Kathmandu in Nepal was inhabited in 900 BC. The Kirats were the first recognized rulers of the Kathmandu valley. In the present time the valley of Kathmandu, of Nepal consist of mainly three cities namely- Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Kathmandu. Kathmandu being the capital of Nepal consists of all important buildings and offices like embassies, palaces, corporate houses, government offices.
The streets and roads of Kathmandu are basically named from the Nepal Bhasa, which owe its origin to the richness of Newari heritage and culture. This place also consists of various shops and restaurants from where the tourists can buy varied items and food products of their choice and preferences. Foreign tourists in large numbers visit this place because of its richness in culture and heritage.
