Purbanchal University was established in the year 1995 in Nepal. The main objective of Purbanchal University is to offer decentralized education in the country and also to expand the realm of higher education in Nepal. Purbanchal University has the Prime Minister of the country as its Chancellor and the Minister of Education as the Pro-Chancellor. The principal administrator is posted as the Vice-Chancellor of Purbanchal University in Nepal. Purbanchal University has its central office located at the Eastern Development Region of Biratnagar, which comes under the Morang district of Nepal.
The chief objectives of Purbanchal University at Nepal are- to provide technical and professional institutions to its students along with study, research and career oriented teaching higher education, for the all round growth and development of the student's personality, and, to mobilize as well as utilize the local, national and international resource materials in catering an efficient academic program, which will be in accordance with the ever changing socio-economic canvas of the country.
Other aims and objectives of the Purbanchal University of Nepal include adopting efficient and effective means in order to contribute and create a healthy competitive environment, through extending and circulating knowledge among the students. The Purbanchal University is also working hard towards developing the different academic institutions, both private and public, in order to encourage a modern outlook required for the betterment of the society and the country at large.
