Kathmandu University is known for maintaining higher standards of academic excellence. It was established as an act of Parliament in 1991.
Kathmandu University in Nepal is an autonomous body. It is not for profit non government public institution. Nepal's Kathmandu University has its premises at Dhulikhel, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur.
The objective of
Kathmandu University is to bring an all round development of personality of the students, to develop an awareness of role of science and its application to contemporary society, to give knowledge and foster its application and most importantly to encourage an environment where knowledge can grow with scholars, students and staffs. The motto of Nepal's Kathmandu University is to offer Quality education for Leadership.
The university encompasses the following six schools:
- School of Management
- School of Science
- School of Engineering
- School of Medical Sciences
- School of Education
These schools offer undergraduate and post graduate courses in science, engineering, medicine, education, pharmacy, music, environment, information technology, biotechnology and human and natural resources. This university has some of the best scholars as their faculty. They are responsible for the quality of education and academic success of the students here. Many students come here not only from Nepal but from other adjoining countries.
