The Budhanilkantha School is a public boarding school located in Nepal. The Budhanilkantha School was set up in the year 1972 and it was mainly created for the underprivileged children. This school was opened by the governments of the United Kingdom and Nepal. The administration was controlled by the British till 1995. After that it was given to the Nepalis.
Till the year 1992 the Budhanilkantha School of Nepal was a school for only boys. In 1992, it was made a co-educational school. This school is situated on the outskirts of Kathmandu Valley, at the base of the Shivapuri Mountain. This school imparts quality education from standard four to ten. After passing class ten, the students can opt for either pursuing plus two-level or for the University of Cambridge GCE A-levels.
The Budhanilkantha School at Nepal has strength of 920 students. This school is basically a residential one and the students are divided among 12 houses. These houses are made on the basis of class performance and sex. The houses are named randomly after the Himalayan peaks. The school of Budhanilkantha in Nepal is considered as the National school of this place. Not only that, apart from imparting quality education this school also emphasizes upon sports and extra curricular activities throughout the year.
