Frankie Fredericks is a famous athlete of Namibia. He is the winner of several international athletics competition. Frankie Fredericks is a celebrity figure of Namibia.

Frankie Fredericks was born in Windhoek on 2nd October in the year 1967. Frankie Fredericks is one and the only athlete of Namibia to have won a medal at the Olympic.

During the year 1987 Frankie Fredericks received scholarship at Brigham Young University of USA. In 1991 Frankie Fredericks took part in international competition. At the World Championships in 1991 a silver medal was won by him in the 200 meter race by beating Michael Johnson. In the same year he occupied 5th position in the 100m race.

In the year 1992 Frankie Fredericks occupied 2nd position in both 100m and 200 m race and won silver medals at the Barcelona 1992 Summer Olympics. In the year 1993 Frankie Fredericks occupied first position in the 200m race and won a gold medal at the World Championships in Stuttgart. In 1994 both gold and bronze were won in the 200 m race and 100 m race respectively by him at the Commonwealth Games.

As Frankie Fredericks suffered from injuries so he back out from the World Championships of 1999 and 2001 and Summer Olympics of 2000. He finally retired from the athletic scene in late 2004.
