The 2nd World Congress on Education for All, EFA held in Dakar on April 2000, is considered to be a great event in the field of Mozambican education. With passing times, the enrollment in primary school has risen to higher levels and almost 67% of the school-going children complete the 5 years of compulsory primary education. There are a number of schools and universities that are running their operation successfully for the fulfillment of the educational needs of the Mozambican people.
In early 2000, a new Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology was set up in order to supervise the entire higher education system of the country. While talking about the Mozambican educational institutions, mention must be made about the Marine Institute that is offering international training regarding marine fisheries and small-scale fishing industry.
