One of Morocco's 16 areas, Tadla Azilal lies in the heart of the country and includes the Tadla plain, the Medium and High Atlas mountain ranges and the piedmont or Dir.

Tadla Azilal has a surface area of over 16900 square kilometers approximately. The two provinces that come under Tadla Azilal of Morocco are Blessed Mellal and Azilal. Tadla Azilal 's current composition comprises of 32 caidets, 9 circles, 9 urban communes of which 7 are in the Blessed Mellal province and 2 in the province of Azilal. Tadla Azilal at Morocco has several rural communes of which the majority belong to the province of Blessed Mellal and the others to the province of Azilal.

The province of Quarzazate in the south, the provinces of Khenifra and Errachindia in the east, the province of El Kalaa of Sraghna et al. Haouz in the west and the provinces of Settat and Khouribga in the north bound Morocco's Tadla Azilal.

The urban and rural population of the Tadla Azilal area is distributed over the provinces of Azilal and Blessed Mellal. Approximately 66% of the population of Tadla Azilal is rural. The region of Tadla Azilal enjoys a favorable climate, fertile lands, forest resources, and plenty of water supplies and has, therefore, a strong economy. Infact, Tadla Azilal in the middle ages was an important economic metropolis of Morocco.
