Oued Ed Dahab Lagouira is an integral part of the sixteen regions of Morocco. This region of Morocco is located at a place, regarding, which there is a severe dispute.

There is a group called the Polisario Front which is raging a struggle and movement for the separation of the Western Sahara from Morocco. Spread over an area of 50,880 square kilometers, the population in the region is almost 1.5 lakh. The capital of the region is based at Dakhla, which is a coastal city. Dakhla was initially called as Villa Cisneros. There is one prefecture and one province in this region of Morocco. The names of the prefecture and the province are as follows:
  • Province of Oued Ed Dahab
  • Prefecture of Aousserd
