Meknes Tafilalet is one of the sixteen regions that make up the administrative system of Morocco. The region is located in north-central Morocco and shares borders with Algeria.
Each and every region of Morocco has a separate capital city or province and same applies for Meknes Tafilalet too. The region has its capital at Meknes. The region has an expansive land area and a large population simultaneously. As a result, the density of population in the region is not very high.
Most of the regions in Morocco have certain provinces and prefectures, which are typical to that particular region.
Meknes Tafilalet in Morocco also has some prefectures and provinces under its administration. The two prefectures in Meknes Tafilalet are as follows:

Meknes is the capital of Meknes Tafilalet. Located in the northern part of Morocco, the place was named after an indigenous tribe in the country, which was found in the country during the medieval times. The fortress in Meknes Tafilalet is the major attraction of the region.
