Out of the sixteen regions of Morocco,
Marrakech Tensift El Haouz has some special importance. This particular Moroccan region is located in the central part of the country.
With its capital at Marrakech, the region is spread over an area of 31,160 square kilometers. The population of the region is also quite high.
There are four provinces and three prefectures in
Marrakech Tensift El Haouz. The four provinces are as follows:
- Province of El Kelaat Es-Sraghna
- Province of Al Haouz
- Province of Essaouira
- Province of Chichaoua

Apart from these, there are three prefectures in the region, which are as follows:
- Prefecture of Sidi Youssef Ben Ali
- Prefecture of Marrakech Medina
- Prefecture of Marrakech Menara
Marrakech is the capital of Marrakech Tensift El Haouz, and is a booming place in the region. Located in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, Marrakech is also known by two different names-'Red City' and 'Al Hamra'. There are many places worth visiting in Marrakech.
