Each region is being sub-divided into 61 second order administrative divisions, which are provinces and prefectures. Individual region is governed by a Wali who is being nominated by a king. The Wali is also the governor of the province where he resides.
In the year 1997 according to a new law passed by the legislature 16 new regions were created. Most of these regions comprises of a considerable number of population. These
