Morocco Regions




The Morocco regions play an active role in ensuring an effective and smooth administration in the country. Each region is being sub-divided into 61 second order administrative divisions,
which are provinces and prefectures. Individual region is governed by a Wali who is being nominated by a king. The Wali is also the governor of the province where he resides.

In the year 1997 according to a new law passed by the legislature 16 new regions were created. Most of these regions comprises of a considerable number of population. These Morocco regions are very well interconnected with each other. Being located at prime locations the regions of Morocco can also be easily accessed.

The Morocco regions are also technically advanced and hence the people living here also are quite sophisticated. Moreover, the regions of Morocco also have varied scenic beauty and commendable heritage, which attract a large number of tourists from other parts of the world.

The regions here are mostly capable of governing themselves efficiently and effectively to ensure safe and secure political scenario. The various regions in Morocco share a high degree of mutual understanding, cooperation and peaceful coexistence to bring about an all round development in spheres like social, economical and political.
