Italian in Monaco is spoken by many people in Monaco, for many citizens of Monaco are of Italian origin and have well have successfully preserved their language with great reverence. Previously Italian was the official language of Monaco but was later replaced by French language. There are many schools in Monaco where Italian is taught and some of the schools in Monte Carlo offer courses in Italian language. Italian speaking community comprises of 16% of the total population.
