Several languages are spoken in Moldova. The Moldova languages comprises of the Romanian, Russian and Gagauz dialects. The Romanian language is officially known as the Moldovan. The country consists of several ethnic groups like Romanian, Ukrainian, Russian, Bulgarian and Gauz and so there exists various types of languages.
The official language of Moldova is Moldovian or Moldovan which is same as the Romanian language. Though Moldova and Romania are being separated at the river Prut, there happens to be no break in the linguistic aspect. The Moldova language is among the five major spoken languages of the Romanian dialect.
All the varieties of the Romanian dialect are identical. The majority of the citizens of Moldova use the Moldovan language for their communication. Around 2.6 million Moldova people use this dialect. Except orthographically, the Moldova language is very similar to the other Romanian dialects. The Latin alphabet is being used in the Moldova language. This has been officially adopted in the Republic of Moldova. The Soviet powers, made the Cyrillic alphabet compulsory for the people during the period 1940 and 1989. These alphabets are only used in some regions of Transnistria.
