Air Moldova is a Chisinau based airline company that had its beginning in the year 1993. The basic foundation of the company was laid with the setting up of Air sub-units. The first such unit was set up as far back as 1944 with the arrival of Po-2 which was a transport aircraft. Following this a lot of development was made in the sphere of the airline industry. Chisinau airport at this time also began to function as the ground for gas turbine aircrafts. In this manner the airline industry in Moldova continued to grow and the reconstituting of the air industry in Moldova in the early 1990's saw the birth of Air Moldova as it stands today.
Air Moldova became a part of the International Association of Air Transport in the year 2004. All efforts were made at this stage to ensure that Air Moldova meets the required high standards that had been specified by this organization.
The same year in December, Air Moldova came up with Air Moldova Club that was intended for people who frequently used this airline service. This was a Frequent Flier Loyalty Program that offered special benefits to such frequent users.
Air Moldova flights serve a number of airports and have enabled better connectivity. Kishinev Airport, Chisinau is the most important airport of Air Moldova. The smallest flight of Air Moldova has the capacity to seat 30 people and this airline service has as many as 8 flights functioning each week from Russia.
