Japanese WWII Communications Center

The Japanese WWII Communications Center is one of the main attractions of Weno. Presently the Japanese WWII Communications Center in Micronesia lies in the complex that houses the Xavier High School. Previous to the US War, the Japanese WWII Communications Center was under the ownership of the Catholic Church. A visit to Micronesia would be incomplete without having a look at the Japanese WWII Communications Center, since it is also one of the major historical monuments of the country.

The Japanese WWII Communications Center survived the bombings during the US War due to its massive structure and the thick walls that are made up of several layers of concrete. The property in which Japanese WWII Communications Center of Micronesia is located was later reclaimed from the Catholic Church and was used as a nucleus for a Jesuit high school.

Japanese WWII Communications Center complex now-a-days houses the following:

  • Classroom buildings
  • Chapel
  • Study hall
  • Gymnasium
  • Living quarters
  • Offices
  • Workshop
  • Mess facilities
  • Student dormitory
