Mauritania Weather remains mostly dry and hot through out the year. Mauritania is a large yet sparsely populated country situated over the western parts of the Sahara desert. It has a coastline over the Atlantic Ocean and borders the Western Sahara over the northern areas, Mali and Algeria on the eastern regions and Senegal over the southern frontiers.
Mauritania Weather is basically a very dry and hot one due to the location between 27 and 15 degrees North. In the southern regions of the country, there are rarely any rainfalls in the months of June till October even though the south-westerly winds do bring the moisture from the South Atlantic sections. At this period in the Weather of Mauritania, there is a lot of humidity in the air and more clouds are visible.
In the rest of the year however winds mostly blow from the north-eastern regions thus bringing with them quite a huge amount of dry and dusty air of the Sahara. Due to this kind of Mauritania Weather, the place is full of the harmattan of West Africa having a very low humidity.
The Weather in Mauritania in its northern regions is apparently rainless apart from the occasional downpour all through the year. Rains however mostly occur in July to October as per the Mauritania Weather. The annual rainfall according to the Weather at Mauritania is 300mm/12 and 375mm/15 which varies from year to year.
