Mopti is one of the largest cities in Mali, a landlocked country of western Africa. The city is located near the place where the waters of river Niger and Bani meet. The town is also known as the “Venice of Mali” as it is situated on three different islands named Bani, the Old Town and the New Town, which are interconnected by the means of walls.
