Bamba is one of the cities in the region of Gao in the country of Mali. The city of Bamba is one of the Cercles (Mali's administrative unit) of Bourem. Bamba has a coverage area of nearly 8,100 square kilometers. There are a total of 19 villages in this city. The latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates of the city are 17°1’60’’N and 1°23’60’’W respectively. Bamba lies at a distance of 230 kilometers from Gao and 190 kilometers from Timbuktu. The other prime Malian cities adjacent to Bamba include Ouagay, Dirbangou, Garia, Zaguia and Tankane. Bamba lies at an altitude of 239 meters above the sea level.
The climate in Bamba generally remains hot throughout the year. But, due the flow of Niger river by the side of the city, the weather remains moderate facilitating the tourists to enjoy a vacation. 7 different groups of nomadic people comprise the population of the city. The prominent of these nomadic groups are Songhais, Bozos and Tuaregs.
The overseas tourists can take the road or air or water services to make their way into the city of Bamba. Few international flights operate regular flights to the capital of Mali, Bamako. Few air carriers operate from Bamako to Gao. Once the tourists reach Gao, they can take buses or taxis to reach conveniently to Bamba.
