Mali recipes provide the best of West African cuisine in the most delicious forms. The cuisine of Mali incorporates various types of delicious dishes. The poulet yassa and riz yollof are two favorite recipes of Mali. Cuisine of Mali includes excellent vegetarian dishes as well as non vegetarian preparations like chicken and fish both being fundamental parts of this cooking style.

Malian cuisine primarily comprises corn, millet or rice porridge dished with a large amount of sauce. Most of these dishes are prepared from okra, ground peanuts, sweet potato leaves or baobab leaves. A potpourri of meats and vegetables are added to the sauces, served with rice or couscous. Smoked or fresh fish, lamb, chicken and beef are also very popular dishes. Vegetables that are mostly used for the preparations of the Mali recipes include tomatoes, onions, plantain, yams and eggplant. The common fruits are bananas, watermelon, lemons and mangoes.
