Total 32 Languages are spoken in the country of Mali. However, some of these languages have become obsolete now. Mali is a West African country inhabited by several tribal communities and ethnic groups. All the different communities speak in different languages and in different dialects.
The Republic of Mali was formerly a part of France and was known as French Sudan. Because of this reason, the official language of Mali is still French. The other national languages of the country include Bamanankan, Tieyaxo Bozo, Bomu, Syenara Senoufo, Koyraboro Senni Songhay, Toro So Dogon, Hasanya Arabic, Soninke, Mamara Senoufo, Maasina Fulfulde, Kita Maninkakan, Tamasheq and Xaasongaxango.
A large number of the total population considers Bambara as their mother tongue and is used widely throughout the nation.
