WHO–Mali or the World Health Organization is working for the betterment of health services in Mali. According to a recent survey by the WHO it has been found that female genital mutilation is one of the main problems of the country. The observation made by WHO in Mali also states that consciousness among the common people can alone fight this problem.
The Epidemic and Pandemic Alert and Response unit (EPR) of the WHO has done a commendable job in Mali and especially so during the outbreak of various diseases in the country. There have been many instances when yellow fever and cholera epidemics have broken out in different areas. The EPR has provided vaccination camps and medicinal facilities during these epidemics.
World Health Organization in Mali is keen to work towards the improvement of women’s condition and health. It has been found that pregnancy related diseases haven caused many deaths in the past and hence the organization aims to improve the situation.
WHO has taken the responsibility of reviewing the health issues of each and every remote area in Mali. The World Health Organization is also working on the eradication of tuberculosis, malaria, diabetes and oral health diseases.
WHO –Mali has to work hand in hand towards the progress and upliftment of the health sector in the country.
