Mwanza

Mwanza is a small district in the Republic of Malawi with Mwanza town as its capital. This district is located in the Southern Region of Malawi whereas the town is located on the edge of the country. Mwanza district includes a total land area of 2,259 km?.The population of the district is estimated to be 138,015. In the year 2003 under the decentralization program of the government of Malawi, Mwanza district was divided into two districts known as Mwanza and Neno.

Mwanza in Malawi is famous for the production of citrus fruits like tangerine, grapefruit, and lemon.
